Musical Fridays a Success for Dixon Main Street
H.B. Wilkinson’s Joni Ehnen Volunteers for the Community
Music was in the air in Dixon, IL. For 14 Fridays over this past summer, Office Manager Joni Ehnen and her fellow volunteers on the Dixon Main Street Promotional Committee and several business donations made Musical Fridays a reality. From 12 to 1pm the community could come to Main St., grab a nice lunch at one of the many wonderful places to eat and enjoy some free entertainment. Donations from the local businesses paid for the music, while the park district and fire department donated use of their tables and chairs so people could sit down and enjoy their food. Most of the entertainment was local and consisted of a great variety including folk, county, light rock, and even some blues. The weather was always favorable during the performances and attendance would range from 30 to 100 people over the noon hour. There was a weekly raffle to raise money for the next year of Musical Fridays. Downtown restaurants put their weekly lunch specials on the 285-EATS line (815-285-3287) for people to call when they were deciding what to have for lunch. The Dixon Main Street Promotional Committee’s goal is to bring more people to downtown Dixon. The businesses have worked hard to improve the look of their store fronts. H.B. Wilkinson congratulates Dixon Main Street Businesses and the Dixon Main Street Promotional Committee on the success of this new program and we hope everyone can enjoy the food and music again next year.
H.B. Wilkinson’s Rockford Office is Moving to a New Location!
Our Rockford Branch will be moving to a new location this month. It is currently located at 7294 Argus Drive, off of Bell School Road. The new location’s address will be 7025 Rote Road, off of Perryville. It is a larger space, so we will be able to accommodate a larger quantity of closings and people! We would like to thank our Developer, First Rockford Group, for the excellent work they have done with our build out and for completing our space in a timely manner. We will be holding a Grand Re-Opening in November.
